Today, the boys had EL spelling 4.
I have shared a poem and demonstrated to them to how to do a proper poem recitation. This poem has been given to them for practice tonight. It is titled 'If you should meet a crocodile'. They will be reciting this poem tomorrow to their classmates. After which, they will assess their own performance based on a self-review checklist.
The self-review checklist has 5 points that they need to be able do it properly during their poem recitation. They are as follows:
1) Able to read clearly and loudly all the time
2) Able to pronounce all the words correctly
3) Able to pause at the commas and at the end of each line
4) Able to read with expression
5) Able to stand up straight all the time
Therefore, you can use the 5 points to teach and train them for the poem tonight. Do not worry too much if they are not able to do it very well yet as this is only a practice.
